Red Points alternatives and pricing: the self-serve plan worked through for real cases

By Alex Wrexford, author of The Takedown. Updated November 5, 2026. 8 min read.

The short answer

Red Points' self-serve calculator adds a $938 monthly plan fee to $174 for one trademark and a price per marketplace. One trademark on Amazon comes to $1,397 a month, and on every marketplace to $1,932. Alternatives that publish prices run from $99 to $529 a month, but you confirm each copy yourself.

What does Red Points do?

Red Points is a managed brand protection company. On its self-serve plan it detects counterfeit listings, reports them to the platforms for you and monitors compliance. It also sells protection against fake websites, impersonation, gray-market sellers, domain abuse and piracy, and says 1,300+ brands trust it.

Red Points sells two ways. Its pricing page lists Starter, Professional and Enterprise plans as Request Pricing, each with unlimited detections and takedowns, and at the top end coverage of domestic Chinese platforms such as Douyin and Pinduoduo. Its self-serve page is the rare thing in this market: a calculator that shows a monthly fee before you talk to anyone. That's a real point in its favor.

Its home page lists offices in New York, Barcelona, Beijing and Salt Lake City, and membership of Google's Trusted Copyright Removal Program.

The self-serve plan is priced per trademark, and the page ties enforcement to a registered trademark. If your main problem is copied product photos, note that a copyright notice rests on who took the photo, and the six elements in 17 U.S.C. 512(c)(3)(A) don't include a registration.

How much does Red Points cost?

Red Points' self-serve plan has three parts: a $938 monthly Brand Protection Plan in every scope, a trademark fee from $174 a month for one to $653 for five, and a monthly price for each marketplace, from $15 for a single site to $820 for all. Fake-website protection adds $745.

Etsy, Alibaba.com, TikTok Shop, DHgate, Taobao, Wish, Tokopedia, JD.com, Mercari, Flipkart, Noon, Cdiscount or 1688.com$15 each
Fake Website Protection (optional)$745

The plan fee lists unlimited detections and takedowns, unlimited users and automation rules, computer vision, an AI copilot with a live dashboard, email support and daily monitoring. It's billed monthly with no setup fees, and the page says nothing is charged until the contract is signed and the service starts.

What does Red Points cost for real cases?

On Red Points' self-serve calculator, one trademark on Amazon costs $1,397 a month, and $938 of that is the plan fee every scope carries. One trademark on Etsy alone is $1,127, on every marketplace $1,932, and with fake websites added $2,677.

Red Points self-serve totals for common scopes, from its calculator on 5 November 2026 (per year is the monthly total times 12)
CaseTrademarksMarketplacesPer monthPer year
Etsy seller1Etsy$1,127$13,524
Etsy and Alibaba.com seller1Etsy, Alibaba.com$1,142$13,704
Amazon seller1Amazon (19 sites)$1,397$16,764
Amazon, eBay and AliExpress1Those 3$1,877$22,524
Every marketplace1All$1,932$23,184
Every marketplace plus fake websites1All$2,677$32,124
Three trademarks, every marketplace3All$2,150$25,800

Two things jump out. The plan fee dominates small scopes: it's 83% of the Etsy-only bill. And the All Marketplaces bundle is cheap once you pick the big three. Amazon, eBay and AliExpress already add up to $765, so for $55 more you get every marketplace on the list.

The page shows monthly billing only, so ask whether an annual rate exists. For how this compares with the other ways vendors charge, see brand protection pricing models.

What do you get for the money?

You get someone else doing the filing. Red Points detects listings, reports them to each platform and monitors compliance, with no cap on takedowns. For a brand with more copies than time, that's the difference between protection happening and not happening.

That's what it does better than self-serve tools, and it's a real advantage. With software, you or a colleague confirms every match and someone reads the platform's reply. With Red Points, its team and AI do that work, and the bill doesn't rise with volume. The calculator lists 23 marketplaces plus an All Marketplaces bundle, from Amazon's 19 country sites to TikTok Shop, so check that the places your copies turn up are on it.

The paperwork is heavier than a card payment, for a good reason. Because Red Points files on your behalf, it asks you to upload your trademark certificate to validate its enforcement authority, and nothing starts until both sides sign a Master Services Agreement. The self-serve page doesn't publish that agreement's term or notice period, so ask for both before you sign.

What are the alternatives to Red Points?

The alternatives are self-serve software, where you confirm each copy and the tool prepares or sends the notice, per-notice services, free platform programs and enterprise managed vendors. Self-serve prices run $99 to $529 a month; enterprise vendors such as Corsearch and BrandShield don't publish prices.

IP Moat's caps are worth a quick sum. At full use, $105 for 40 removals is about $2.63 each, and Premium's $529 for 200 is about $2.65. Red Points doesn't cap takedowns, so the real comparison is who does the confirming, not the unit price. Our guide to what brand protection costs gathers every published price we found.

Which Red Points alternative fits which brand?

Amazon-first brands should start with Brand Registry and add a tool if copies outrun them. Etsy and Alibaba.com sellers have the cheapest options. Brands with copies everywhere and nobody to review them are the ones Red Points' price makes most sense for.

One trademark, Amazon only

Red Points: $1,397 a month. Start with Amazon Brand Registry, which is free and needs a pending or registered trademark. If copies outrun you, IP Moat's one-marketplace plan is $105, but confirm it covers Amazon for you, and Brand Protector's flat plan is $199.

Etsy and Alibaba.com

Red Points: $1,142 a month, mostly plan fee. You'll find your own photos on Alibaba.com listings at a fraction of your price, and the Takedown Routes Index has each platform's reporting route. That's where we start: Brand Protection Tools searches both, Starter is $99 a month for 10 products, and you file each notice we prepare. We don't search Amazon yet.

Every marketplace, no time to review

Red Points: $1,932 a month for one trademark. IP Moat Premium covers 30 marketplaces plus websites for $529 with 200 removals a month, but someone still picks what to remove. If nobody can, Red Points' unlimited managed takedowns are the honest answer, and its published price lets you budget before the call.

What should you check before you sign with Red Points?

Check that every marketplace where copies turn up is in your scope, that your trademark certificate covers the brand you're enforcing, what the agreement's term and notice period are, and how counter-notices and relistings get reported back to you.

  1. Scope. Price the scope you need now. Adding a marketplace later changes the monthly fee.
  2. Rights. Have your trademark certificate ready. If photo theft is part of the problem, ask how copyright notices are handled.
  3. Contract. Get the Master Services Agreement's term, renewal and notice period in writing.
  4. Counter-notices. Under 512(g), a listing goes back up 10 to 14 business days after a counter-notice unless the platform hears you've filed a court action. Ask who tells you, and how fast.
  5. Relistings. Ask how a seller who comes back under a new store name gets linked to the old case.

Questions people also ask

How much does Red Points cost per month?

On its self-serve calculator, checked 5 November 2026: a $938 Brand Protection Plan, plus $174 for one trademark, plus each marketplace. One trademark on Amazon is $1,397 a month; on every marketplace, $1,932. Its Starter, Professional and Enterprise plans aren't priced publicly; the pricing page says Request Pricing.

What's the best counterfeit detection tool for Amazon sellers on a budget?

Start with Amazon Brand Registry: it's free once you have a pending or registered trademark. Then compare published prices, such as IP Moat from $105 a month for one marketplace and Brand Protector at $199, and check each one covers Amazon before you pay. Red Points with Amazon in scope is $1,397 a month for one trademark.

Should I choose All Marketplaces or pick them one by one?

Add up your picks first. On Red Points' list, Amazon, eBay and AliExpress together cost $765 a month, and All Marketplaces costs $820. If you need those three plus anything priced over $55, the bundle is cheaper. If your copies sit on Etsy or Alibaba.com at $15 each, pick them one by one.

Does Red Points need a registered trademark?

The self-serve plan is priced per trademark and asks you to upload your trademark certificate to validate its enforcement authority. If your problem is copied photos rather than a copied name or logo, a copyright notice doesn't need a trademark, and a self-serve tool or per-notice service can handle it.

Does Red Points have a free trial?

We didn't see a free trial on the self-serve page on 5 November 2026, though a Black Friday banner offered one month free. Red Points also offers a free strategy call, and the page says nothing is charged until the contract is signed and the service starts. IP Moat offers a free audit and Brand Protector a 7-day trial.

Can Red Points automate takedowns for me?

Partly. Red Points automates detection and files for you, with unlimited automation rules on the self-serve plan. Self-serve tools automate the search and the paperwork while you confirm each copy. Someone must judge each listing, because knowingly and materially misrepresenting infringement creates liability under 17 U.S.C. 512(f).
